Crestron To Streamline Comms And Digital Signage With New Decoder/Encoder - UC Today

Crestron has unveiled the DM NVX 384 decoder/encoder solution to streamline unified communications, collaboration and digital signage.

The 384 decoder/encoder is Crestron’s latest addition to its DM NVX AV-over-IP ecosystem. It intends to offer seamless AVoIP performance. Crestron emphasises that the solution originated to address customers’ needs regarding scalability, flexibility, efficiency, and security in meeting room control and design.

“DM NVX transformed the way companies think about AV distribution, and to celebrate its continued innovation, Crestron is dedicating a week to DM NVX learning, collaboration, and inspiration,” said Brad Hintze, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing at Crestron.

This latest addition to the platform brings exciting opportunistic new features that will address even more capabilities and applications across our AV-over-IP hardware offerings.”

The DM NVX 384 solution aspires to enhance the DM NVX platform by introducing USB-C connectivity and multi-input switching across four inputs, supporting 5K resolution. Crestron stresses this makes it a sound choice for accommodating USB-C video input, which has become the standard for laptops, smartphones, and tablets and is widely used in both home and commercial environments.

The multi-input switching feature includes two HDMI inputs and two USB-C inputs, catering to the common need for multiple sources in settings like podiums or teaching lecterns. Additionally, the 5K support is beneficial for the increasing popularity of 21:9 and 32:9 displays, providing more screen real estate.

Last week, Crestron opened a new modern work experience centre in New York City.

Located at 200 Lexington Avenue in the New York Design Center, Crestron’s Experience Center offers a state-of-the-art, immersive environment. Designed to meet the evolving demands of today’s tech-savvy consumers, the centre seeks to provide an in-depth look at Crestron’s products’ residential and commercial applications. With dedicated areas showcasing how their solutions can be customised for different settings, visitors gain a practical understanding of their functionality and impact in real-world environments.

In March, Crestron expanded its control apps by launching Crestron Control for Zoom Rooms, streamlining the user experience.

The Crestron Control App for Zoom Rooms enhances video conferencing systems by integrating Crestron Control, adding expanded functionality. This software allows users to manage lighting, shades, AV solutions, and peripherals effortlessly, as well as the Zoom Rooms platform from a single interface, streamlining control and boosting overall efficiency.

This was followed by the launch of Crestron Control for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows operating systems in June.

Microsoft Teams users now have access to new room controls for their UC systems, enabling the automation of in-room meetings and presentations. This update brings Crestron Control to Teams Rooms, expanding its availability across platforms such as Zoom Rooms, Cisco Webex, and Google Meet.
