Planar has released its Simplicity P Series LCD displays to support the continuous operation of digital signage applications.
The large format displays series has been certified for 24/7 usage for digital signage applications, including emergency messaging, wayfinding, advertising, and menu boards.
Planar Simplicity P Series is available in sizes ranging from 43 inches up to 86 inches. It also has interactive touch models with 20 simultaneous touch points and a fine-tip stylus, which can also be purchased in all sizes.
According to the ‘global leader’ in visualisation technology, Planar, the new series can provide digital signage customers with “exceptional visual performance”.
Sandi Stambaugh, SVP, Product Management at TD SYNNEX, has provided feedback on its integration of the P Series into its portfolio: “TD SYNNEX is committed to uniting IT solutions that deliver business outcomes today and unlock growth for the future.
“With the new Planar Simplicity P Series added to our portfolio of digital signage solutions, we’re able to enrich the breadth and depth of our offerings so customers can do great things with technology.”
The Simplicity P Series joins the marketplace, following Planar’s cybersecurity certification from the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) for its Simplicity M Series 4K LCD displays.
ETSI defends against large-scale attacks against smart devices by creating a baseline for connected products and future IoT certification schemes.
Planar’s P Series has also been certified to the “most stringent” global cybersecurity standard to protect customer from the current cybersecurity threat landscape.
The new large format display also helps to maintain the display family’s ‘ENERGY STAR’ certification that marks them out as an operation cost and electricity saving solutions.
The displays can also be mounted in either landscape or portrait orientation, making them easier to deploy across varying environments.
The Planar Simplicity P Series will begin shipping via Planar’s global reseller network towards the end of the fourth quarter.
Last month, Microsoft Teams introduced digital signage functionality for Teams Rooms on Windows.
The tech giant is creating opportunities for organisations to use their Teams Rooms hardware for signage, in addition to meetings and presentations, enabling them to communicate to teams, showcase company news upcoming events, and reinforce brand messaging.
Crestron is another to have made moves within the digital signage space, having recently unveiled the DM NVX 384 decoder/encoder solution to streamline unified communications, collaboration and digital signage.
The US audiovisual controls systems manufacturer emphasised that the solution originated to address customers’ needs regarding scalability, flexibility, efficiency, and security in meeting room control and design.
Earlier this year, UC Today explored the impact digital signage can have on your business and their relative growth in popularity since the pandemic.
A range of sectors, from government and healthcare to education, corporate enterprises, and retailers have taken up the technology to support the contactless dissemination of information.
Hybrid working has led to an increase in the demand for digital signage services like wayfinding, meeting rooms, and desk hoteling, and signage in mobile apps, room scheduling panels, and desk reservation systems.
There has also been a clear increase in uptake of use cases like visitor and space management tools, KPI dashboards, and video walls to help people manage their daily lives.
